How we wash
Cold water, plant-based soap, washed by hand
Hot water shrinks wool and can move natural dyes. Machine scrubbing wears the pile flat. We use neither. This is a cleaning method, not a badge.

Inspect and dust
We look at the rug in daylight, note fade, weak spots and pet areas, then dry-dust it to pull out sand and grit before any water.

Cold-water hand wash with plant-based soap
The rug is washed flat by hand with cool water and plant-based soap. Cold water keeps wool and natural dyes stable and avoids shrinkage.
- 03
Controlled flat drying
Rugs dry flat with moving air, so the foundation stays square and nothing sours or holds a musty smell.
- 04
Grooming and final inspection
Pile is groomed back in one direction, fringe is tidied, and we check the rug over before it goes back on your floor.
